So this dude Ed Bassmaster is pretty entertaining. From LOOK AT THAT to accidentally buying "Black Ops" instead of 'Black Cops' dude is on point. The Bassmaster lives in Philadelphia with his wife and son and finds inspiration in everyday items like bubblegum, daisy dukes, and dogs.…

Watch this tribute to Steve Jobs. Filmed live last Wednesday at the Cupertino, CA Apple campus, the technology juggernaut paid homage to their fallen leader. Amongst the notable speakers to pay tribute were current CEO, Tim Cook, former US Vice-President, Al Gore, and head of Apple design, Jonny Ive. This one hour plus tribute is certainly a must watch not only for fans of Mac products, but also for anyone who has ever doubted the idea that one person could completely change the world.

Grieves is among the youngest and latest additions to the independent rap label Rhymesayers Entertainment that is well known for their founding rap duo Atmosphere as well as other notable acts such as Brother Ali and P.O.S., but even though Grieves is new to the table, his latest album is not one to be passed up on by fans of the independent and alternative rap genre.
Grieves is based out of Seattle as well as his right hand man, Budo, who works side by side with Grieves on the music production process and even at concerts where he is seen playing the trumpet, guitar, and piano. Together/Apart marks their second album together, and Grieves' third album overall (as well as a 10 song EP released last Spring after signing with Rhymesayers), but as the first new studio album since signing with…

Liam Finn is a New Zealand indie rock musician and the son of popular New Zealand musician Neil Finn. Liam Finn is only 27 years old but has just released his second solo album and has been active since 2000, formerly apart of a band named Betchadupa. Under his solo work, he creates some soft pop rock that sounds very much influenced by The Beatles. It is only fitting that Finn and his father appeared on the soundtrack to the movie I Am Sam in 2004 with a cover of The Beatles' "Two of Us".
Finn has been one of my favorite under the radar artists for the last few years, since the release of his debut solo album I'll Be Lightning released in 2007. The man definitely is on par with much of what the indie rock artists over here in the states have been doing, and it was with great…

Sam Roberts is a Canadian musician who has been releasing albums along with his band for the last decade, to much acclaim. However, this acclaim and positive reception has seemingly been centered in Canada and the band has yet to truly break through in the States. With the Sam Roberts Band having just released their latest album this month, a fantastic work titled Collider, and will be performing in numerous U.S. cities throughout the next few months, it will be a shame if they still cannot break through.
Collider is a cohesive album that does not feature any glaring weak points. On a song by song basis, the album might not be considered to break much new ground. The album presents a catchy new rhythm in each song, and is pretty much entirely radio-friendly rather than feeling…

Gayngs is a large collective concentrated out of the mid-west with a focus on re-creating a 1980s soft-rock sound but with a modern facelift. Founded my musician Ryan Olson in 2009, the group rapidly expanded and their official Facebook page currently lists 23 members; most notably is Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, rappers P.O.S. and Dessa of Doomtree, electronic acts Solid Gold, and Har Mar Superstar.
Gayngs released their debut album Relayted last year and earlier this year Doomtree remixed 7 songs and released a more hip-hop centered album under the Gayngs moniker called Affiliyated.
The music of Gayngs actually comes at much of a surprise, for including so many different artists from vast genres, you would expect a diverse sound from song to song (especially since the album…
