WSL Cancels 2018 Margaret River Pro Due to Shark and Safety Concerns

In an unprecedentedly move by the World Surf League, the 2018 Margaret River Pro has been canceled due to "very unusual and troubling" shark activity.  Round 2 competition had already been completed, so Round 3 through the Finals are officially not happening.  Round 2 losers Matt Wilkinson, David Delroy-Carr, Adrian Buchan, Miquel Pupo, Ian Gouveia, Frederico Morais, Kanoa Igarashi, Ezekiel Lau Pat Gudauskas, Thomas Hermes, Wade Carmichael and rookie sensation Griffin Colapinto all received the dreaded 25th Place.  The rest of the competitors can only dream of what could have been...  The WSL claims they would like to complete competition later this year.  Stay tuned on the rescheduling of the potential mulligan contest.  Read the full story here:  WSL Cancels 2018 Margaret River Pro
