This Week Through The Lens

"Through the Lens" is Havoc TV's featured flick column. Each week we source the best surf and skate snaps from up-and-coming, already legendary, or important but overlooked Instagram photographers.

Rob Collins (@robcollinsphoto)

Skate and documentary photographer Rob Collins captures Boston Skater Kanten Russel at the city's brand new Lynch Family Skatepark. The new park has been 15 years in the making and sits underneath an overpass along the infamous Charles River. Russell backside ollies the hospital bank replica.

Ryan Chachi Craig (@chachfiles)

Ryan Chachi Craig is a man about the ocean. When he's not at home in Santa Cruz, the freelancer photographer can usually be found globetrotting for Surfer Magazine. This shot was taken at dusk at Banzai Pipeline.

Woody Gooch (@woodygphoto)

Photographer Woody Gooch has shot for Deus Ex Machina, Surfing Life Magazine, Stab, and Foam Symmetry, to name a few, and recently landed two covers for his stylistic surf photographs. Gooch shoots a closeup of speeding surfer Harrison Roach in Java, Indo. The shot can now be seen on the cover of Blue Magazine.

Colin Sussingham (@colinsuss)

Brooklyn-based photographer Colin Sussingham captures New York street skater Cyrus Bennett as he ollies a steep ledge in the Big Apple.

Rafael Gonzalez (@rafagonzalezphoto)

Rafael Gonzalez picked up his first analogue camera just looking for an easy way to help him document his travels. Now he shoots epic, black and white skate and travel photos. Gonzalez snaps Adrian Poncet in Barcelona, Spain on a Polaroid Type55 for this shot.

Pedro Miranda (@plmiranda)

Photographer and big wave enthusiast Pedro Miranda can usually be found hanging out and snapping surf shots on the coast of Nazaré, Portugal. The waves are no joke at the famed Praia do Norte surf spot; Miranda's incredible photos are a visual testament to the unbelievably immense swell.

Madwhite (@deadteenage)

Mr. Madwhite shoots photos, video, and draws. He uses obscure lighting and shadows to add an ominous effect to his skate photos.

Morgan Maassen (@morganmaassen)

Photographer and filmmaker Morgan Maassen captures surfer Craig Anderson kicking out from a wave underneath the stormy skies of Nicaragua.

gnar Morgnar (@morgnar)

Morgnar is Active's resident photographer. He can usually be found fluttering about at the hippest art shows in LA and taking amazing photos for the brand, like this one of skater Ryan Hill.

Crille Rask (@raskal)

Crille Rask is a freelance photographer, nomad, and all around stylish dude. Brought up in both Portugal and Sweden, Rask's photos have a certain perfectionism to them but still embrace the laid-back nature of his lifestyle. Crille settles in Hossegor, France when he's not wandering around the world.
