MØ - Kamikaze

After riding the tidal wave of popularity she amassed in the last eight months since she teamed up with her Major Lazer “Lean On” collaborator Diplohas decided to relink with the music industry's golden boy for her sophomore LP's lead single "Kamikaze."

The 27-year-old Danish pop singer released the ear-pleasing piece of pop candy earlier this month; it's a playful and irresistibly wistful combination of syncopated horns and upbeat synths that glide over a Diplo's insatiable composition of 80s and percussion.  has now followed up with a grandiose music video for the sure-to-be Top 40 gem, where she bops around Kiev, Ukraine with gang of free-wheeling friends, breaking into abandoned buildings, dancing on top of shitty pieced-together cars, and riding dirt bikes in a dirt parking lot.

MØ's usual quirkiness and street-wear meets decadent style evokes similar character and style to Grimes, including both artist's urge to push the boundaries and familiar sounds of pop music. "Kamikaze" shares the same forward thinking pop mindset that "Lean On" brought to the table, a trait that MØ credits to Diplo's open-minded creative process and desire to "bring something new to the table."

"It needs balls,' said MØ  in a statement about the track. "And that’s what you get working with Diplo."
