Making soulful beat music isn't something new for Los Angeles musician Kiefer Shackelford. In fact he's got a niche cult following, and has been pumping out hip-hop tethered to jazz for quite a few years. Kiefer's debut LP Kickinit Alone is a striking, yet chilled out and trippy collection of songs, that show of the classically trained pianist's hip-hop state of mind.
Kiefre really knows what he's doing, which is most apparent on the track "Tubesocks." It's an effortless, yet expertly-constructed jazz-infused hip-hop track. He's worked with Kaytranada, and is currently on tour with Mndsgn.
