Emo Trump

February 15, 2017

Sometimes we just really hate the internet (the ice bucket challenge, the running man challenge - once the cops started doing it), but then sometimes we really really love it. Especially when it spawns digital masterpieces like this new "Emo Trump" video made by infamously hilarious brand Super Deluxe.

Terrible emo music made its unfortunate transcendence from its roots in punk and indie rock, and boiled over into the mainstream with bands like Good Charlotte and My Chemical Romance in the early 2000s. Comparisons between bad third-wave emo and the presidency of Donald Trump have not been made previously, but they’re strangely a natural fit, as this whiny-as-hell rendition of many of his tweets confirms.
