Doppelganger: Unearthing Brazil's Underground Skate Scene

March 1, 2017

You never really hear about the Brazilian skate scene. And I'm sure everyone has their preconceived notions, more or less ill advised, about what the skate scene might be like there. However this new full-length—it rings in at just over 24 minutes—will most likely shake every single preconception you had.

The new video "Doppelganger" from skate and filmmaker Alexandre “Cotinz” Neaime is a total immersion into the local underground and lesser known skateboarding scene in Brazil. Cotinz is known to meander outside the norm of typical skate films, putting an obvious David Lynch a la Twin Peaks spin on "Doppelganger".

Watch the new video and then afterwards take some time to read the interview with Alexandre “Cotinz” Neaime.
