The Melvins-The Bride Screamed Murder

The Melvins have done it again, for the 18th time to be exact. The Bride Screamed Murder marks the release of one of my most anticipated albums of 2010, and it's damn good so far. King Buzzo and the gang have been slaying since the 80's, playing what I can best describe as sludgey punk/grunge rock. Named after a clerk at a store lead singer Buzz Osbourne worked at during the formation of the band, The Melvins are known for their experimental sounds and bizarre humor in their songs.

The Bride Screamed Murder was just released on June 1st, and is yet another one of their albums to have two drummers playing together. The album kicks off with The Water Glass, which isn't really a "single" but is still really good, faithful Melvins. They have a pretty decent cover of "My Generation" by The Who on here, which you should check out if you're into that kind of thing. My favorite tracks were Evil New War God, Electric Flower, and I'll Finish You Off, but don't get me wrong: nothing here sucks.

If you're a lifelong fan of the Melvins or have never even heard of them before, you won't be left displeased by this release. Check out the new album and more information about the band on this fansite I listed below. All hail King Buzzo!
