Noah and the Whale Perks Back Up on Their Third Album

English indie-folk group Noah and the Whale came bursting out in 2007 with the hit song "5 Years Time" and their debut album followed in 2008, with much of the same upbeat summertime flow. Although since then, the band not only lost a few members, but lead singer Charlie Fink suffered a breakup with former band member Laura Marling. They released their second album, The First Days of Spring in 2009 to much critical acclaim, although the tempo of the album was greatly slowed down and much of the content reflected how Fink was struggling with the breakup. Now in 2011, Noah and the Whale have just released their third album titled Last Night on Earth, and I'm happy to say that the album is a bit of a return to the "good times" vibes that were present on their debut album.

If you have not yet listened to anything by Noah and the Whale, check out the song below and see if it rings any bells:

Noah and the Whale reignites their summertime sound with Last Night on Earth, with at least half of the songs providing some serious hits. This album is not as quirky as their debut album, but it does come off as a bit more focused and musically well-rounded (whether or not these elements create a better album is up to you, however).

Key Tracks:

"L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N."

"Waiting for My Chance to Come"

"Tonight's the Kind of Night"
