Generationals Grab From '60s Influence and Give it a Refresh

Generationals are an indie rock band --recently expanded from a duo-- from New Orleans, Louisiana. Their debut album Con Law, released in 2009, quickly became an indie favorite by those that heard it, with most people admiring their throwback sound reminiscent of '60s style. At the end of last year Generationals released a four-track EP and most recently the band has followed up with their sophomore album, Actor-Caster.

Generationals make well-crafted pop music, but don't fret, it's nothing similar to the "pop" music you hear on the airwaves these days.Their lyrics do not dive too deep, but the whole appeal of this music is more of a simple joyousness, as I do not think a single song in their discography could be labeled "dark". These good vibes running through their music has clearly been picked up on by some people, as the band has had several songs featured in commercials and television shows as well as a selection as Starbucks' "Pick of the Week". The group has also toured with notable artists Broken Social Scene and Two Door Cinema Club.

Generationals are certainly worth a listen, so immediately below you can check out a song from each of their album & EP releases. As usual, if you like it you can head to iTunes and Amazon to download their music.
