Childish Gambino is a Man of Many Talents, and a Rapper Not to be Missed

Childish Gambino is the rapper alias of Donald Glover who is also a comedian, writer, actor and DJ; he is best known for his role as Troy Barnes in the NBC sit-com Community. I cannot attest to the Glover's acting skills, but as a rapper, Childish Gambino pulls through with an extremely fresh and enjoyable style. Gambino has put out several albums and mixtapes dating back to 2008 and has most recently released a five-track EP this year, simply titled EP, which is likely his best work yet.

Childish Gambino has a nasally sound to his voice, and for a few brief moments you might think you are about to listen to a nerd-infused rap style, but those thoughts will soon be thrown out the window; as Gambino delivers hard, witty and aggressive punchlines. His flow is a bit raw, but Gambino more than makes up for it with his quick and poignant lyrics. In his songs, Gambino does not even seem concerned with appeasing anyone with a smoother flow or sing-songy hooks... the dude just RAPS, and he does it with a "I don't give a f---" attitude that has seemed to have disappeared from rap recently.

Childish Gambino's music is most enjoyable to listen to, because it sounds so different than what most other rappers are currently trying to do. Listening to most any Gambino song will both hold your attention and likely make you laugh. Donald Glover is clearly a talented writer and I'm sure he's a funny comedian.
