Check out 'Diamond Rings' For Something Different

"Diamond Rings" is the name of the solo project by John O'Regan out of Toronto, Canada. Apparently he is also in an indie rock band called "The D'Urbervilles". Diamond Rings is more synth-pop, but his voice is distinctly undistorted (or at least not in a noticeable way) and it really is his voice which makes the music stand out the most. The beats are good but somewhat plain, and at times this works in favor of the songs and at other times it leaves them feeling a bit boring.

The "sound" of Diamond Rings is a bit different, some will like it and some just won't be able to get into it, but I personally think it's cool enough to at least check out. A month ago Diamond Rings released his debut album, titled Special Affections, and it definitely has some stand-out songs. "Something Else" and "All Yr Songs" I think are the most appealing songs on the album, and I personally find "All Yr Songs" to be pretty irresistible. Check out both songs below:
