Anonymous Hacktivists attack Sony Playstations online network, Playstation store, and cost Sony millions of dollars. Anonymous is a group of internet hackers aka Hacktavists that believe in freedom of information and refuse to allow corporations to take and exploit services and the free flow of information.
On 4/6/11 Anonymous took aim at Sony Playstation for the legal action they took against a Playstation 3 owner who jailbreaked his PS3. Their argument is that if you purchase a product it becomes your own and what you do with it is up to you. Anonymous released a statement stating, "We have this agenda that we all agree on and we all coordinate and act, but all act independently toward it, without any want for recognition. We just want to get something that we feel is important done..." The question is, are these people just in their movement or are they just as criminal as the corporation they deem so? In my opinion I agree with anonymous and believe what they are doing is illegal but possibly important for the greater good of educating the world of what is really going on behind closed doors. Regardless, right or wrong anonymous is bringing up legitimate questions and opening the door for us all to ask what we should always ask, who, what, where, when, and why. Im not a internet wiz and Im also not for or against anonymous but what i am for is freedom of information and the most important thing to ask ourselves is when is enough enough? You be the judge.
